Sacroiliac joint infiltration

Patient Positioning:

The patient is placed in a prone position with the heels rotated laterally and a cushion pillow is used as an iliac wedge to facilitate the exposure of the skin surface in the sacroiliac joint area.

Probe Positioning:

Use a transverse image for the sacroiliacal joint to perform the injection from medially (due to the position of the joint space, which leads from medial to anterolateral direction). The landmarks are the ilium at the lateral aspect and the sacrum medially located. The space between is the lower third of the sacroiliacal joint.

Note: SIJ Injection in a obese patient - the needle is almost not visible during the procedure due to its angle.
