Place the transducer on a transverse plane over the proximal carpal tunnel - bony landmarks are: the pisiform ulnar and the scaphoid tubercle radial.

Note: Massive thrombotic material in the lumen of the persistent median artery.

Note: the patient suffered from acute carpal tunnel syndrome. The ultrasound revealed a thrombotic median artery with swelling and therefore a secondary carpal tunnel syndrome (decompression was performed).
