Patient Positioning

Patient lies prone, foot hanging out of the examination table.

Probe Positioning

Place the transducer on a sagittal plane over the achilles tendon, which is easily palpated.

Note: tendinopathy of the distal anterior part of the tendon with hypoechoic areas at the distal anterior part

Note: anechoic and hypoechoic area of the tendon with partial tear

Note: mild changes of the anterior distal part of the achilles tendon
