Subtendinous bursitis of triceps brachii muscle

Patient Positioning

Patient seated, the elbow flexed (90°) either with resting forearm on a examination table and "overhanging" elbow or resting palm on a table (extension of the wrist).

Probe Positioning

Place the transducer on a transverse plane over the olecranon and move the probe cranially over the triceps tendon.

Note: the patient suffers from dorsal pain at the ellbow after overuse without trauma. There is no effusion in the joint or bursa - but projection to the subtendinous bursa of triceps brachii muscle is mild effusion and hyperemia detectable.
